Beyond the West End!

That’s right, we have a superb location for our 40th Birthday Celebcation. Helensburgh is a handsome Victorian holiday resort on the River Clyde. It has pubs, cafés and shops.

We will be returning to the same venue as our 2000th run, the Commodore Inn at the west end of the town. Accommodation on the Friday and Saturday nights will be provided at the Travelodge directly above the pub so there will be no need for long midnight rambles or taxi rides.

The rough running order of the weekend is as follows:

• Friday Night - get there find where you are sleeping get your tea (dinner) if you want

• Friday Night Pub Crawl (remember your “best” Hawaiian shirt)

• Drink until you have drunk too much

• Saturday Morning - look for breakfast (not included in the weekend price). There are pubs and cafés around.

• GH3 Birthday celebration trail from a scenic, currently secret, location

• Circle up

• Lunch at the Commodore (pay as you go)

• Some afternoon free time for shopping, drinking or submarine spotting

• Meet in bar for aperitifs

• Evening Birthday Party with dinner included in the weekend price

• Sunday Morning - as for Saturday

• Hangover trail

We have one accommodation option:

• Runs, meal and T shirt only : £50 pp




All the hotel's single rooms have been booked. However, the hotel might be able to convert some double or twin rooms to single, possibly with a supplement to pay. If you want a single room we suggest you book a twin and say "Single preferred" in your additional message and we'll do what we can. We can't promise you'll get a single, but we'll try.

What might I get for my money?

Please note that the weekend does not include any drinks per se i.e. it is a cash bar at the hotel. Should you wish lunch on either day or your tea on the Friday then again this is your own responsibility and cost.

Dogs are permitted in the hotel for an additional charge of £20 per dog per room per night. They are also permitted in the bar area of the Commodore.
